Audience: Geared toward formal and nonformal educators working with 5th and/or 6th graders in outdoor school settings

  • How to Teach Nature Journaling 

Description:  Join us for an engaging and hands-on workshop where you'll unlock the joy of birding! You’ll explore the world of birds through curiosity-driven exploration, sharpen your observation skills, and discover nature journaling techniques. No prior birding experience is needed. Our workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned birders alike.  We'll also explore the Flying WILD curriculum guide, packed with engaging activities and lessons and activities. This workshop is open to all educators, with special focus on those teaching 5th and 6th graders. Come prepared to spend some time outside on trails and discover how to integrate birding into your outdoor school programs and create memorable learning experiences for your students.

Stipend: A $100 stipend is available from OSU Extension Service Outdoor School to support the attendance of eligible outdoor school educators who are not being compensated by their employer for the time they attend the workshop.
