Audience:  This workshop is intended for, but not limited to, natural resource professionals, STEM professionals, and educators in eastern Oregon. 

Curriculum: BEETLES

Description: This one-day workshop will feature instructional tools from the BEETLES Project (beetlesproject.org) that will equip Natural Resource and STEM professionals with the skills and self-efficacy to facilitate equitable and engaging lessons with youth at educational outreach events, including outdoor school. The workshop will focus on how people learn as well as observation and questioning strategies to engage students. Participants will engage in student activities and leave with resources for developing their own lesson plans. This workshop will be interactive and provide time to get to know other natural resource professionals who teach youth throughout eastern Oregon.  We especially encourage professionals who participate in outdoor school or are interested in participating in outdoor school to join us for the workshop.

This workshop is brought to you by: the OSU Extension Service Outdoor School Program, Greater Oregon STEM Hub, and Oregon Natural Resources Educator Program (ONREP). 

Registration required. Offered at no cost to Oregon educators. PDUs available. Substitute reimbursement available on teacher workdays.

A $100 stipend is available to support the attendance of eligible educators who are not being compensated by their employer for the time they attend the workshop. Please contact with questions about stipend eligibility.
