Description: In this panel discussion and curriculum exploration, participants will hear from neurodivergent educators and inclusion professionals, as we explore what neurodivergence is and the variety of ways that it can show up in both classroom and outdoor learning. Our panel will provide recommendations about creating a more inclusive learning environment at outdoor school and other settings. We’ll examine how to apply tailored communication, options, and flexibility to increase relevancy for both neurodivergent and neurotypical students.  Participants receive the Project WILD K-12 guide and the opportunity to analyze it with an accessibility lens and apply principles of Universal Design to make lessons more flexible and accessible to the greatest number of students.

Stipend: A $100 stipend is available from OSU Extension Service Outdoor School to support the attendance of eligible outdoor school educators who are not being compensated by their employer for the time they attend the workshop. Please contact with questions about stipend eligibility.
