Description: 

Where does trash go when it leaves your home? Tour Metro's transfer station to experience the sights and smells of our trash while learning how garbage and hazardous waste is managed in the region. We’ll explore what is in our trash and actions we can take to reduce the impact of garbage on people and nature. 

Participants receive two of Project Learning Tree’s guides: Explore Your Environment and Exploring Environmental Issues, Municipal Solid Waste.

Wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Snacks provided. You are encouraged to bring your lunch as nearby options for food are limited.
