Description: Organisms have been adapting to a changing environment for millions of years, making them the best problem-solvers in the world. The Biomimicry Institute describes biomimicry as “a practice that learns from and mimics the strategies found in nature to solve human design challenges — and find hope along the way.”

In this workshop participants will go through a simplified version of the Biomimicry Design Process and create a sketch or prototype of a nature-inspired solution to a problem related to climate change.

Educators will leave this workshop understanding how Biomimicry fits into their middle school curriculum, along with resources they can use with their students.

Registration required. Offered at no cost to formal and nonformal Oregon educators. PDUs available. Substitute reimbursement available on teacher workdays.

Registration closed at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 17.
