This workshop is a series, please plan to attend both sessions.

Format and Length: In-person, 8 hours (Two  4-hour sessions)

Audience: 4th-8th grade educators, formal and nonformal

  • Project Learning Tree’s Explore your Environment K-8 Activity Guide 
  • Project WILD’s K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide 

Location: Oregon Coast Community College, Newport 

Description: At Yakona Nature Preserve & Learning Center, "students are scientists" as they monitor the forest, collecting data used in climate science analysis. During this hands-on workshop, we will explore the model, resources, and tools that Yakona employs, and discuss ways that participants can replicate the data collection model at their site.

Participants will receive Project Learning Tree’s Explore your Environment guide and Project WILD’s K-12 guide. 

This workshop consists of 2 sessions.  Each day we will focus and explore  a different curriculum  guide. Please plan on attending both days.
