Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

Format: In person, 7 hours  

Audience: geared toward formal and nonformal educators working with 5th and/or 6th graders in outdoor school settings

Curriculum: Project WILD’s K-12 guide  

Come to this workshop to learn how you can support your students as they gear up to attend outdoor school! We will explore a range of strategies for developing comfort with outdoor learning, naturalist skills, field trip behaviors and mindfulness.  During the workshop, we will share Project WILD and nature journaling activities that will help support a transformative outdoor school experience. Attendees will have an opportunity to develop a plan to get kids learning outside, including identifying a nearby outdoor location to visit!  Participants will receive Project WILD’s K-12 guide. Lunch will be provided.

Offered at no cost to Oregon educators. PDUs available.Substitute Reimbursement available on teacher workdays. 

A $100 stipend is available from OSU Extension Service Outdoor School to support the attendance of eligible outdoor school educators who are not being compensated by their employer for the time they attend the workshop. Please contact with questions about stipend eligibility.
