Time: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Format: Interactive, online, one session

Audience: High School educators, formal and nonformal

Description: All Oregonians are affected by fire, yet few understand the reasoning behind modern fire management practices. Guided by an essential question, educators will draw connections between past and current fire management practices. Recognizing that fire can be a difficult topic for students and educators, we will touch briefly on trauma-informed care.  This interactive workshop will provide participants with lesson ideas, content resources, critical thinking strategies, a sneak peek at the OELP’s Fire K-12 Essential Questions Progression and more!

This workshop is co-hosted by Oregon Environmental Literacy Program, OSU Extension Fire Program, Educate Regenerate, Oregon Forest Resources Institute and Oregon Natural Resources Education Program (ONREP).

Registration required. Offered at no cost to formal and nonformal Oregon educators. PDUs available. Substitute reimbursement available.
