Saturday, October 5, 2019Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Audience: 2nd - 6th grade educators, formal and non-formal Guide: Project Learning Tree PreK-8 Guide Learn to engage your students with nature/outdoors as part of your regular curriculum. This workshop includes a field trip to Peavey Aboretum to experience brand new Forest Discovery Trail curriculum. Suitable for classroom teachers grades 2-6 and informal educators wanting to use their school grounds and nearby natural areas for study. Educators will use multiple perspectives, observational skills, and science inquiry. Professional development addresses NGSS Science and Engineering Practices and is aligned with Common Core State Standards. Participants will receive Project Learning Tree Activity Guide, field journal kit, and science based resources. 6 PDUs are available. This professional development is offered in partnership with OSU Extension, Benton County.$25 fee includes lunch and materials. Registration deadline is September 30th.
