Bureau of Land Management Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area

Primary Geographic Region: Lincoln County

Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area offers a number of opportunities for educational groups. The 100-acre park hosts some of Oregon‚Äôs best tidepools, a 19th century lighthouse, an interpretive center and opportunities for birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and hiking. Throughout the year, classes are invited to participate in teacher-led activities. From April through mid-June, school groups can choose one of our standards-based ranger-led programs, offered for K-12 grade students. There is no entrance fee or a charge for any of the Yaquina Head educational programs, but reservations are mandatory.

Columbia Slough Watershed Council

Primary Geographic Region: Multnomah County

The Columbia Slough Watershed Council is a diverse group of neighbors, property owners, businesses, environmental groups, recreation advocates, and government agencies who work to restore and enhance the 60 miles of waterways known as the Columbia Slough, located in Portland, Gresham, and Fairview. Our mission is to protect and enhance the Columbia Slough and its watershed through community engagement, education, and restoration. We are well known for our large community festivals such as Explorando el Columbia Slough, Regatta, and Aquifer Adventure, which bring in 500+ people each, and our Education program, which delivers free, place based science education programs to over 6000 student contacts each year. CSWC has been a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization since 2003.
