Salmon Watch Teacher Training - In Person Workshop

Format & Length: 5 hours, in person*, outdoors, Salem Oregon 

Audience:  5th-12th grade educators, formal and nonformal

Description: 

This in person workshop* connects 5th grade through 12th grade teachers to the powerful and engaging curriculum of the World Salmon Council’s Salmon Watch curriculum. The lessons and the training educate and connect participants to science, nature and the magic of salmon in the Pacific Northwest.

Participants will learn through four Salmon Watch stations: Macro Invertebrates, Riparian Habitat, Water Quality Testing, and Salmon Biology. Resources, outlines, and curriculum will be provided.

*Oregon Natural Resource Education Program adheres to the COVID 19 guidelines as set by the Governor’s Office, OSU Extension, and local government. More detailed information will be shared in the workshop confirmation letter which is sent to registrants prior to the workshop. 

This workshop is co-hosted by: Marion SWCD, Calapooia Watershed Council, City of Salem, World Salmon Council

Registration required. Offered at no cost to formal and nonformal Oregon educators. PDUs available. Substitute reimbursement available on teacher workdays.
