Description: Join us for a one-and-a-half-day, hands-on workshop where we will explore forest resiliency in Santiam Canyon, five years after the Labor Day Fires. Participants will gain insights into how the changing climate is affecting Oregon’s forests, discover adaptive management practices for the future, and learn innovative ways the forest is part of the climate solution. During this field-based workshop, we will engage in activities from PLT and OFRI curriculum and take field trips to the Santiam Canyon forests, Freres Mass Ply Panel (MPP) Mill and OSU's Emerson Lab. Lunch provided both days and there will be options to get out of the elements when the weather gets too warm. This workshop is especially relevant to high school educators teaching Career & Technical Education (CTE), Forestry, or Natural Resources programs.

Considerations: This field-based workshop takes place primarily outdoors and includes van transportation to and from field trip sites. Participants are required to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and a hard hat.
