Learning Outdoors Using Native Plants

Audience: 3rd – 8th grade educators and non-formal educators

Curriculum and Resources:

  • Shrubs to know in the Pacific Northwest
  • Lessons from Salmonberry to Sagebrush Curriculum

Description: Designed for classroom and informal educators working with youth in grades 3-8 outdoors.  Teachers will spend time outdoors engaging in hands-on science activities that focus on using native plants in natural settings or schoolyards. Activities aligned to NGSS. Graduate credits and PDUs will be available. Educators who participate in the entire day will receive a variety of resources including Project Learning Tree Curriculum Guide, Shrubs to Know in the Pacific Northwest and lessons out of Salmonberry to Sagebrush Curriculum.

This workshop is offered in partnership with OSU Extension Benton County.

Cost: Fee is $25, which includes lunch and materials.
