Description: Calling all 3rd through 12th grade teachers! Have you ever seen a bear or fox in the woods? Well, now’s your chance. Join us on an adventure and conduct fieldwork with Museum biologists and science educators. Use remote cameras to investigate carnivores living in the Cascade Mountains. Learn about fire ecology and the impact it has on our climate. Engage students in real-world, citizen science projects that connect them to their local landscape. Explore how to integrate wildlife monitoring and forestry using interdisciplinary, standards-based curriculum into your teaching.

Participants will receive:

  • 14 Professional Development Units (PDUs)
  • Project WILD and Project Learning Tree curriculum guides
  • Access to borrow a loaner kit, which includes remote cameras, to integrate field studies into their teaching
  • Inquiry-based curriculum aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards
  • Graduate credit will be available

Be sure to dress for the elements as we will be conducting field work rain or shine! Bring your own lunch.
