Creating Meaningful Watershed Connections

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Audience:  3rd – 12th grade educators and non-formal educators.

Curriculum: Aquatic WILD and StreamWebs Field and Classroom Watershed Investigation guide.

Workshop Description: This workshop will share a variety of resources that support a meaningful watershed education experiences and investigations for students including the new Aquatic WILD guide and the StreamWebs Field and Classroom Watershed Investigation guide.  Educators will engage in hands-on activities focused on the local watershed and will be introduced to an environmental literacy framework that incorporates Next Generation Science Standards and Social Studies Standards. This workshop will be held at Siskiyou Field Institute, which is situated at the gateway to the Illinois River Canyon – nestled up against the Siskiyou Mountains and overlooking the beautiful Deer Creek Valley.
