Title: Environmental Educator Training: Project Learning Tree (PLT)
Date & Time: February 12th, 1-5pm
Location: This is an interactive, online professional development (PD) event and will take place by Zoom
Curriculum: Each attending participant will receive a copy of the Project Learning Tree (PLT) PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide
Description: Are you curious about Project Learning Tree (PLT)? Would you like to explore this award winning environment education program that uses trees and forests as windows on the world to increase students’ understanding of the environment? In this interactive training you will be introduced to PLT’s PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide, which contains 96 hands-on, multidisciplinary activities correlated to education standards, and access to relevant Oregon forest information to augment the activities.

Title: Environmental Educator Training: Project WILD
Date & Time: February 26th, 1-5pm (4 hours)
Location: This is an interactive, online professional development (PD) event and will take place by Zoom
Curriculum: Each attending participant will receive a copy of the Project WILD K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide
Description: Have you ever wondered what is wild about Project WILD? Come explore this interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education program that focuses on wildlife and habitat. This interactive training will familiarize you with Project WILD and specifically with their K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide. The guide contains everything educators need to implement a lesson from background information to key vocabulary and all the important information in between. Dedicated sections of each activity show alignments to wildlife careers and STEM applications, as well as field investigation activities and teaching outdoor components. These activities will be augmented by Oregon specific resources to truly make the activities place-based.

Accommodations

All of our workshops may have auditory, visual, and written components. If you are attending an in-person event there may be activities that require standing, walking, and sitting. The activities can be both indoors and outdoors. 

ONREP strives to make all our professional development events manageable and accessible for everyone.

This ONREP workshop is offered at NO cost to Oregon educators through external funding that covers all materials, fees, and instruction costs. All participants are expected to attend the ENTIRE workshop. 

In the event that you DO NOT cancel your attendance 24 hours in advance, you will be invoiced the cost of any materials already distributed to you and any incurred shipping costs.
